Sam

I've just noticed that MSN Messenger 6.1 has been
released. Can anybody explain what's new in this version
and what has been removed that might have been in the
previous version? Is there much changes?

Greetings Sam,

A lot of the bugs and some feature requests have ended up in 6.1. For example, the audio
issue experienced with some versions if Windows should now be corrected. Users on non-XP
Windows versions can now change their video input in the Tools menu, Web Camera Settings
option [before there was no way to do this on non-XP]. As for pure new features, you can
view conversation windows "frameless" and change the color scheme of Messenger (just like in
Windows Media Player 9)

There's also been some tweaks, for instance, the 'Webcam' functionality now supports
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). As far as I know, nothing has been removed.

Hi Jonathan,

I've just downloaded 6.1. I did notice something that I
didn't before. Under the "I want to.." under the Main
Messenger interface, there is a Search for Contact
option. I also noticed under Actions in the Conversation
window, there is a "start 3 groups" and "start musicmix".
Are these new or did I not notice these in 6.0?

What are the start 3 groups and start musicmix do?
