Periodically, I am being logged off beause I am "logged
on elswhere". I can't see where! Can anyone suggest how
to stop this happening?

Thanks

Hi,

This sounds like you've logged into Messenger on another computer and
selected the option to save the password. The person using that computer
must have Messenger set so that it automatically logs in when the computer
starts up and logs in automatically.

The easiest way to fix this problem is to go change the password for your
Messenger Passport account.

Greetings Paul,

Two possibilities here -- firstly, if you've signed in somewhere else and mistakenly saved
your password, it could be signing you in (if this is happening *every time* then this
probably isn't it). If you think this is the case, you can change your password here:
https://memberservices.passport.net/ppsecure/MSRV_ChangePW.srf

Secondly (and more likely), you have installed MSN Messenger 6 and both Windows Messenger and
MSN Messenger 6 are "fighting" to login. To correct this, assuming you want to use MSN
Messenger 6, simply double-click the Windows Messenger icon, choose the Tools menu, then
Options, then Preferences, uncheck 'Run this program when Windows starts' and click OK. If
you'd rather use Windows Messenger, you can just uninstall MSN Messenger 6 by clicking Start,
then Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, click MSN Messenger 6 and then click the 'Remove'
button.
