MSN Mail and Download Manager

My XP SP2 is going crazy. It started today 11/07/05. When I try to open my
mail inbox, I get a notepad message. The same when I try to open Download
Manager. I used my SP2 upgrade disk to repair the system, but it did not
work. The problem remains.
I would appreciate any advice/help from anyone who knows more than I do.

OK. When posting, make sure that we not only CAN understand what you are
asking, but also try to be sure that we cannot MISunderstand. Some points
that are perfectly clear to you are not clear at all to us because we are

Are you using OE6? Or Outlook (It's NOT the same program!)? Or some other
mail program?

What is Download Manager? I'm not aware of a program with this name in
WinXP.

HOW did you use it? Did you boot from it and run the Recovery Console? Did
you run SFC (System File Checker) and insert the WinXP CD when requested?
Did you do a repair install, as described in KB article 315341? Is this the
SP2 CD from August 2004 that includes only the SP? This CD does NOT include
the entire WinXP.
