Rafael Rodriguez

Hi,

I hope that you can help me with this.

Lately when I connect to the internet (with MSN 8) the system goes to a halt
for at least 3 to 5 minutes. Everything stops, I can load or unload
anything. I had already run an updated antivirus and nothing comes up. So
also uninstalled MS8 and installed again. I also comment this to a friend
and he told me that he got the same problem. Is there something wrong with
MSN explorer? or with the messenger?

If anyone know or have a similar problem, please feel free to write or give
me a feedback.

Kindly,

Rafael Rodriguez.

Download Adaware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and use it to remove parasites.

It is normal to have a number of Svchost.exe process entries appearing in Task Manager. For the process generating the high usage how is the User described? Next whilst Task Manager is showing high usage change from the Process Tab to the Application Tab. Then select each running Application in turn, right click and select "Go to Process" and see if you can identify the application causing the high usage.

Next select Start, Administrative Tools, Services. Compare the list of services with those shown as Started and for each in turn stop the service and observe the effect. If the CPU usage in Task Manager continues or something stops working restart the service. When you have found the likely cause i.e. the CPU usage stops then post details of what you have found.

What ISP are you using?

Hope this helps.

Already did a long time ago the ad-aware thing also downloaded recently
thinking it was a parasite the SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY!

As for the user programs I also deactivated the programs I don't need a long
time ago too.

I also want to clarify that when the system freezes I can't even acceces the
Windows Task Manager

Oh I have to say that the problem have to be related with the Messenger of
MSN, or with the Explorer, because both freeze for a while when connecting
the internet.

My ISP is MSN
