MSN Explorer in Windows XP forced shutdown

A friend of mine just upgraded their computer to Windows
XP and immediately began having problems with their MSN
internet access. It dials out correctly and connects
then after an arbitrary amount of time a window opens
informing you that a service shut down unexpectedly and
Windows must restart. It then begins a one minute
countdown for the restart. However during this one
minute, it is still connected to the internet and you can
continue trying to do work. Then of course the system
reboots, on its own, and the cycle repeats. It is
impossible for them to get on the internet long enough to
do any research into why this is happening, so I am
attempting to gather this information to help them out.

Thanks.

maybe it's the Blaster virus? Try running an Anti-virus program. Download
Spybot Search & Destroy and search for spyware.
