Here is some information that I found internally that might help you if you
are using MSN8.
Method 1 for Outlook 98/2000 IMO
1. Switch to CW mode (Make sure customer has disk for OL before starting
this step.)
2. Setup OE to receive mail for msnhttp account
a. In OE, go to tools, accounts, mail, add mail
b. For display name have the customer type their name and click next
c. For email address have customer type in their email address and
click next
d. For server type select HTTP
e. For server provider select MSN if it is listed, if not select other
f. If other is select, for incoming mail server type
http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata and click next
g. In the account name type in their full email address EX:
(e-mail address removed)
h. Type in the password and click next and then finish
i. It will ask to syncronize the folders click yes
3. Go to tools\address book\tools\sycronize now to syncronize http address
book
4. Export address book as csv by going to file export address book, text
file comma separated value as save the file to the desktop
5. In OL, import the csv file into the contact folder by file
import/export,import from another file or program, csv, and import into the
contacts folder
6. Switch back to IMO in OL
Method 2 :For all supported version of Outlook
1. In MSN 8 go to Mail& More and click on calendar
2. On the calendar, on the lower left hand side select more features
3. On the page click the click here to download Intellisync for MSN link
4. On the next page click download now
5. Click on save this file now and save to the desktop. The name of the
file is
is4msn_v1_00.exe
6. Double click the is4msn_v1_00.exe and accept all the defaults
7. This will setup MSN intellisync for a two-way sync with OL to the
default profile
8. Double click on the MSN intellisync icon and sign in with the MSN user
and password
9. Click sync and it will automatically sync contacts,notes, appointments,
and tasks.
Note: Method 2 should be supported by MSN if sync fails
