I have a client who has MSN has a Internet Service
Provider and gave a copy of the MSN 8 software to
install. The only thing this client wants to use Internet
Explorer to setup a Internet connection. Does the client
have to install MSN 8?

I don't think so. Create a normal dial-up connection, configure it to
dial into MSN, and specify the MSN user name and password. I haven't
done that for a while, and I don't remember what form the user name
takes. Try these:

username
(e-mail address removed)
MSN/username
