Good morning everyone,

Can someone tell me what MSMGT.exe is. It's in the Windows folder and also
on in my Msconfig Startup file. I keep getting MSMGT.exe is trying to
excess the internet message, from my Norton Internet Security.
I tried to uncheck MSMGT.exe in the Startup file and delete the MSMGT.exe
from Windows. When the system starts it say that I am not using the Original
Configuration. Don't know what to do now. The file was placed on the system
on 10/30/03 so I don't it is part of Windows. I am running XP Pro with all
updates.
Thank you in advance
Bob

MSMGT.exe - a Spyware or MemoryMeter..... the software "Search&Destroy"
will remove it from your hard disc. You can download this software for free
from: www.tomcoyote.org/spybot .

Hi there,

I had a similar message from Norton Internet Security,
but it could have been MSMGR.exe (not sure as its stopped
now). I THINK that it actually be Microsoft Messenger, as
after I disabled it (quite drastically, deleting the
Messenger folder and all its contents) the annoying (and
worrying) message stopped! Erm , I never actually use
messenger, so if you do, I don't recommend the same steps!

Anyway, hope that might give you some answers, but
remember, I'm not sure if its the same thing so I suggets
you double check on the Symantec Website - they've got
ecellent support there.

Good Luck. - BTW, I need some help on an issue as well,
regarding changing system drives. Post by Orcnobeard. Ta.
