I get this box and message when I connect to the
internet:MSMGS.EXE Unable to locate conponent
This application has failed to start because wbemcomn.dll
was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this
problem.

I tried to reinstall msm but I couldn't complete the
installation. Abort retry or cancel.
Do you have suggestions?

Thanks

Rosemary

Greetings Rosemary,

This is a key Windows file, reinstalling Messenger won't have any effect on this.

What you may want to do is run the System File Checker tool to correct this, to do so, click
Start, then Run, type:
sfc /scannow
and click OK.

If you still encounter problems, the easiest thing may be to simply upgrade to Service Pack 2
(as it contains this file) if you haven't already:

Thanks Jonathan, I tried the SFC/Scannow, but that didn't
help. I'm hesitating to download SP2 as so many many
people are reporting problems. Is there any other way to
get this file replaced?

Regards

Rosemary
