MSIE won't list Netscape as an webpage editing programme

In some configurations where MSIE and Netscape are both installed, Netscape
will be listed as an option for an "HTML programme" under the Programmes tab
of Tools > Internet Options in the MSIE menu bar. This permits an "Edit
with [program name]" to appear in the MSIE File menu.

But right now with NS 7.1 and MSIE 6.0 SP1, the Netscape option is not being
listed. For awhile only Notepad was listed, but now there is Word and
Excel. I have reinstalled NS and updated MSIE as far as it will go, but
this does not solve the problem. The whole thing seems unrelaiable.

How can this be done? (I assume it requires some deep work in the registry,
but hope the anser is simple)

Please cc: my email to suggest solutions.

Have you gotten an answer for this?

I have a similar problem I'm trying to find the answer to regarding
using Netscape as the News Reader; it only shows Outlook, which is
strange because Netscape did register itself as a Mail Client, from what
I'm seeing in the registry, but not as a News Reader Client. If I
wanted that virus prone headache (Outlook, that is), I'd use it for
email as well as mail, but I only use Netscape for mail & news (I guess
it is MS's fault for being the one everybody wants to take down that
most of the virus warnings I see target Outlook).
