I am having a problem with MSIE on my IBM ThinkPad notebook. After a
few series of patches, I can no longer "keep" a file I have downloaded.
I click "Save" as normal, and the progress bar proceeds as normal; but
the files is not in the folder after the download completes. (It is
not in a different folder either.) My network works fine, I can browse
the Internet fine, but I can't download and save files to the machine.
I installed Mozilla Firefox, and I can download and save files fine
with it. I ran System Restore and went back an entire *month,*
certainly a time when I could download successfully, but that did not
fix my problem. As the operating system was pre-installed on the
system, I don't have the Windows installation discs.
Is there any way I can download MSIE 6 or 7 and reinstall only *that*
component?
Thank you very much!
