MSI KT3-Ultra ARU - USB 2.0 not functionning

I have an MSI KT3-Ultra ARU version 1.0 motherboard.

The 4 so called USB 2 connectors work as USB 1 only, of
this I am sure by copying full CDs on the hard drive and
comparing the time required with my other computer wich
have real USB 2 ports (15 minutes vs 4 minutes). On that
MSI motherboard USB 2 is driven by a NEC chip controller.

Last week I wrote to MSI about that problem. I am not
alone with this, as can be attested by MSI technical
forums on their website. Many people are complaining that
the USB 2.0 ports on the D bracket works only as USB 1.0.

When I go to USB drivers on MSI website, they say that
USB 2 drivers are the responsability of Microsoft.

I don't have internet at home, so I cannot use Microstar
Live Update or connect to Microsoft Windows update
services.

Is there a fix or USB patch for this problem wich I could
download ? Who is responsible for the fix, Microsoft or
Microstar?

I use USB 2.0 devices like a CD writer, so I need these
USB 2.0 ports (actually I get buffer underrun errors when
I use the CD writer on the "USB 2" connectors).

Thanks for your answer,

USB 2 drivers came out in Service Pack 1. You can download the complete
service pack by selecting the "network install" version.

And then put it onto a CD.

I installed a recent version of Windows XP with Service
Pack 1 included. Anyway that same CD of WinXP has been
used for my other computer and USB2 works fine (it is a
PCI card with 4 USB2 connectors (it uses a VIA chip
controller) as the motherboard itself don't have USB2).

I have a third computer with a cheap ECS SOM+ V7.5C (AMD
Duron on board) and USB2 is working fine also (same CD of
WinXP).

If I put the USB2 adaptor PCI card on the MSI computer,
Device Manager shows hardware conflict with the NEC
controller. So there is no way to have USB2 on that
computer.

Thanks for your interest, but the problem seems more
complicated than first tought.
