MSI FX5700 Ultra vs 9700 pro?

Hello All

This is not going to be one of those "mine's bigger than yours!" things. Quite simply, I already have a system that I'm selling which has a Radeon 9700 Pro. I'm getting a faster overall system from Ebay, and like everything about it, but have some doubts whether the graphics card it comes with (MSI FX5700 Ultra) is actually better for gaming than the 9700 Pro? There are just too many benchmark comparisons out there - and I'm not a techie, so straightforward advice appreciated. Which card sgould I hold onto, particularly as I want the best performance out of next gen. games e.g. Half Life 2. Doom 3.
 
i would recommend the FX5700 but the price for it is too
much... if u want, u can go for ATI's Radeon 9600 XT..
they both have similar results... but it's your choice...
just want to say the FX5700 is beta than the 9700 pro..

The system thats coming has the FX5700 Ultra and my existing system has the 9700 pro - so it's a choice from those two, but I hear what you're saying and thanks.

Between the 2 it's a no brainer - you'll get better 2D
and W A Y better 3D from the RADEON.

Now if someone would be kind enough to answer MY
question.....
