msi. error mess.

Hi,

I keep getting the following error message when I want to install a software
via CD.

"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. this can occur if you
are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not
correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance".

Now, here's what I've tried doing to resolving the issue

I restarted the Windows Installer service
Installed 'Windows Installer 3.1
Ran CD on a different machine and it worked fine.

What do you suppose the problem is? Please advise. Thanks

This is the Internet Explorer (specifically version 6) group. I'd suggest
asking in the appropriate group for your Operating System.
