MSHTML.DLL with service pack 2 installed

I have the automatic update setup on my XP Professional and I keep it updated
constantly. SP 2 was installed with no glitches. In the last 3 weeks I have
started getting the error that a problem has occurred and the program must
shut down. When I click on the details it is always MSHTML.DLL. This only
happens when I am in the Internet Explorer. It closes the program and I lose
everything I was working on. It has caused me to move out of my office and
into another area to work, I can make the proble go away temporaily by
running sf/ scannow and putting my XP CD disk in the drive for comparison. I
have about 15 different MSHTML.DLL on my system. What is it and which one
should be on the XP Professional with SP 2??
Or any suggestions out there?? Thanks

David,

You might try disabling smart tags. This was definitely a problem for XP
users who updated from the Beta version of XP but may affect other
installations as well. At any rate, its worth a try. Open IE and go to
Internet Options under Tools. On the ADVANCED tab, remove the checkmark from
"enable smart tags." Click Ok, shut down IE and then restart.

MSHTML.DLL = Microsoft (R) HTML Viewer

Try registering MSHTML.DLL...
Start | Run | Type or paste:

regsvr32 mshtml.dll

Click OK.

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in MSHTML.DLL
Uninstall Yahoo Companion. This seems to be the biggest culprit for this
error lately.

lexplore has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL will now close.
lexplore (Lexplore) is a virus. It causes a lot of problems including
errors in MSHTML.DLL and other modules.

Thanks,
But I looked at that from the Knowledge Base. I can not even find Smart Tags
listed.

Tried that. It registers OK. One other site had me go through about 5 of the
regsvr32 and only one failed GLsx.dll or something like that. I can not find
my notes on that one. When it failed I looked on the web to see if it was
legitimate and could not find any info so I let it drop. I just can not
remeber the dll name just 4 letters starting with a G. Any suggestions
