Does anybody know anything about this software, available at
http://www.msgtag.com/home/

I don't think it is something I would want to use on all e-mails as it
seems a bit intrusive/impertinent? but there are occasions when I
would like to know that someone has opened an e-mail.

Does anyone know how it works - I mean how can it detect that a
program has ben executed on a remote machine without being very
intrusive.

I believe a Google search of the ACF archives will give you a *lot* of
info about this.

This program will change all your outgoing smtp account settings to redirect
through msgtag. Problems have cropped up for some users in resetting their
account settings. For anyone who values their privacy just set these lines
in your HOSTS file to prevent the "receipt" being sent.

Anybody in their right mind does not read HTML mail. Plain text email is
the only way to go.
All msgtag email is immediatly trashed.

Well, I personally don't have any problem with reading html e-mail,
really don't know why people get so hung up about it - however, given
that it does bother some people and using MSGTAG would mean all my
mail being converted to html, then I will not use it.

Don't want to inflict that on unwilling participants, besides I remain
concerned about the intrusive nature of this product.
