Msg Sent is Rec

I am using Outlook 2000

How do I find out if a msg sent to someone else, has been
read. I do not want to be notified everytime someone
reads my sent msg, but I would like to be able to pull up
a sent message and know whether it has been read or not.
Is there a way to do this?
