MSFT Multimedia KB - Function Keys inop.

Multimedia KB on new Thinkpad T40P via USB port.

Standard kb functions work fine, but none of the special
function keys work [Top row My Docs/My Pic etc, plus F
Lock functions - Help, Undo, Redo - Print]. Sleep key
DOES work!

Searched the KB, tried the registry mod to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042
prt\Parameters - from KB article 224970. No change.

All help greatly appreciated!
