[msft!] MSDN Library language filter not working

When using the MSDN library (July 2004 edition), I click the funnel icon
to set the language filter to C#. For some reason, it's not retaining my
selection. Each new page that I visit requires me to re-click the language
filter. This is insanely irritating. I've searched google and found several
other people with the same problem, but no responses from Microsoft. I'm
running on Win2003. Any ideas?

I am a paying subscriber so I'm hoping to get some support from MSFT on
this newsgroup. My passport account is '(e-mail address removed)' although that is
no longer a valid email address.

This is usually a permissions issue. Are you an admin on the machine and
do you have rights to the folders where the Library is installed?
I don't think that this is a permissions issue. I am an administrator of
the machine and the domain. If you research this problem on google, you'll
see that it occurs when MSDN is installed on a "clean" machine where "clean"
presumably means that the machine has been recently formatted with nothing
but the OS, service packs, and perhaps VS.NET installed. This matches my
experience. When installing MSDN on machines that have been in use for some
time since their last format, the problem does not manifest.

Reinstalling MSDN does not fix the problem.

Thanks

This is NOT a Whidbey release that I'm using. I'm referring to the
July-2004 edition of the MSDN Quarterly library. There are no beta
applications running on this machine.
