I've been reading with interest about these "fixes" for the problem
that a lot of us seem to be having with Canon's MV20 and SP2.
I've been having exactly the same problem - when I use Movie Maker I
can only capture one pixelated, scrambled frame.
So far I've tried Kristen Miller's advice to replace the new MSDV.sys
file with the old one (see other threads in this forum). People seem to
have made it work but I am having trouble seeing some of the files
required for this solution.
Windows\lastgood\system32\drivers doesn't show up. (I can see the
dllcache if I change my Windows Explorer options.)
What's more, the old version "reverts" to the new MSDV.sys
(5.3.2600.2180) a couple of seconds after being changed in the
Windows\system32\drivers file even if I delete the new version first. I
suspect it's to do with this "last good" folder that I can't see?
Does the same problem arise with a program like Adobe Premier because I
read one guy saying it's okay - maybe it's worth trying that. I can't
belive that my Canon MV20 is the only incompatible video camera in the
world!
I feel like I've nearly got this sorted but it's driving me crazy. I'd
be grateful for any advice.
Yours sincerely GEO
