When clustering 2 MS2K Servers am I right to assume the following

EACH server in a 2 node cluster has there OWN IP ADDRESS on the Network

ONE VIRTUAL IP ADDRESS exists for access to the server resources on the
network

All users which need to access data on the server use it via this VIRTUAL IP
ADDRESS

Does this virtual IP Address have to be manually added to the DNS record or
does that happen itsself?

I understand that each Serrver in the node has its own Host Address and
separate IP Address registered...but how does registration of the Virtual IP
Address and its Name occur?

Jay,

You are correct in your assumptions. Each node has it's own name and IP address, separate from the clustering service, as would any normal server. When you create a 'Network Name' resource and 'IP Address' resource in Cluster Admin, these two resources combined are referred to as a Virtual Server. This virtual server is what should be used by end-users, applications, etc.

Add the virtual server name and IP address in DNS manually (as an A record), just like any other server.
