Instead of MSConfig, Windows 2000 provides you with System Information. From
the Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, run System Information.
Within System Information, under the Software Environment branch, you want
Startup Programs. That will at least show you everything running on Startup,
and for whom it is running. It does not allow you to edit this list, but you
can save it to a file and then print that file, if that helps.
Now, to remove these items... I presume that if these items were simply in
any given Start Menu's StartUp group, you would know to remove it from
there. The various Run keys in the registry can occur in more than one
place. There's
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run and
CurrentVersion\Run. A more complete explanation is available at
