Due to a domain change users no longer have permission to restore a BCM
backup file (.MSBCM). Is there a way to restore this data?

If you login as administrator, you can restore any database, you don`t need
to have permission.

Note: If you are restoring on VISTA you need to run Outlook as administrator.

Please let me know if you any problems.

Fatih,
In order to get this running I have to put my user (restricted account) into
the administrators group and then YES I can restore the database and I get
the message that "Business Contact Manager has been restored to an earlier
version."
it also asks me to restart Outlook and that runs fine and i can see all of
the contacts. When I then take the user out of the admin group and log back
in i get the message that the folders could not be opened and am offered to
create a new database The system does not seem to see the one i just created
and restored to.
then if i create a new database and try to restore to it then i get "you
cannot restore this database because were not a user when the database was
backed up contact the admin..." I even tried to backup the database AGAIN
right after i had restored it... so if you can follow all that any
suggestions? By the way your last one was great and DID get me this far :-)

If you need to get this user out of the administrator group and use that
database, I can suggest you below solution.

Solution:
1. Get the user back to admin group.
2. Restore the database. (You said you came this point successfully before).
3. Back up the database. (So that we changed the DB owner the Database).
And save that back up file somewhere that you can access when you are not an
admin.
4. Get yourself out of the admin group.
5. Restore the backed up database in step 3.

Please let men know if you have any problem.

Thanks.
