Does any one know for sure if this product will be free
after the July 1st dead line? Will Onecare be availible
for Corp users or only home user?

There should be another beta between now and the expiry date. The final
version will be free to all licensed Windows users, Onecare is pay for
product with advance AntiVirus, AntiSpyware System monitoring capabilities.

I would describe OneCare as a step-up from Microsoft AntiSpyware.

OneCare is clearly aimed at home users, but what the equivalent corporate
product will look like will be interesting to see.

Hmm

None of this answers the original question, Which was will
MSAS be free after the deadline. I have an issue with many
AV and Antispyware companies to be honest, and that is
paying subscriptions to get updates, surely you buy the
product and updates should be available, Not on a
protection racket scheme.

I was hoping (Perhaps stupidly) that MS would put the
pressure on them by offering free updates at least. If
someone has payed for a copy of windows, and holds the
legitimate licence surely MS should be more involved in AV
and AntiSpyware being included in thier operating systems.
I mean simple stuff like AV or As software instead of
bloated "Frameworks" and "Patches" Instead of "Ex" VXers
running firms like Network Associates and Symantec
perpetuating thier own profits.

So will there be a product, that kills spyware, and
perhaps an AV as well, provided by Microsoft for the
protection of their licenced users?

If not then I do not see how MS even hope to tackle the
security problems that are inherent with their operating
systems

Andre already answered that portion of the question, so I didn't duplicate.
Yes there will be a free version of Microsoft Antispyware (or Bill Gates
will owe me something--I'm not sure what--perhaps an apology!)

Your question has been answered in the Newsgroups hundreds of times - Bill
Gates said it will be available to LICENSED Windows users for free.

Subscriptions is the way most things are paid for - it takes people to
create daily updates for anti-malware software and those people would like
to get paid.

Do you read magazines, watch cable tv, receive products like hosiery,
coffee, or fruit in the mail regularly? Why are their subscriptions fine
but anti-malware software subscriptions are not? Your subscription also
pays for tech support, application updates and extensive online support as
well.

AV and AS software is not simple either. Some of the most difficult and
devious software are in those categories.

antitrust lawsuit will be the problem if microsoft decide
to include antivirus on the window os.

Not if they bundle someone else's under an agreement with them. Kind of
like preferred vendor.
