MSAS upgrades with 32-bit version on my 64-bit Windows which fails

MSAS says that a new version is available and that I should download it. Two
errors occur:

1. It does not detect that I am using a 64-bit version of Windows. This
should not be too hard for a program to find out. It downloads the 32-bit
version and tries to install it and this fails with an error.

2. After the failed installation, the MSAS upgrade dialog says that it has
done a successful upgrade and that I can now use the new version after a
reboot?

Shouldn't you make sure that you upgrade MSAS to a version which should
handle these basic features? Especially for a program that has become so
popular.

Please release a fixed updater before sending out more of these messages.
Perhaps a simple link to the web-page is better if the upgrade is too hard to
accomplish.

Thanks - I suspect that the beta1 code probably can't manage the detection
needed. Seems like the installer should, though...

Unfortunately 64 bit users will need to uninstall AntiSpyware Beta 1 and
install Windows Defender Beta 2 manually. The good news is that you should
not run into this problem from Beta 2, RC, and RTW so it is a one time deal.
