Hi,

I have just installed the latest release ofMSAS and I am
disappointed to find that the keyboard access is still
almost not existing, neither the menus nor the controls in
the main program window can be accessed without using a
mouse.

Interestingly the program has a menu but it cannot be
accessed in the usual way either by using the alt key to
get to the menu bar or using alt key in combination with
the underlined letters in the menu names. Since the
program has a menu it should be a trivial task to make it
possible to reach the menu by using the keyboard.

Also in several of the dialog boxes inside the menus it is
hard to use the keyboard, sometimes you have to move to a
control and then it is possible to use the tab key to move
the other controls. If you are very lucky the associated
text for the control will be read by a screen reader but
not always.

For disabled people especially blind users this is a
significant limitation of the program. It can be used but
it is much harder than it would be if keyboard operations
were supported.

The search capability of the webinterface is currently
down until a new version of the webinterface is in place,
so I do not know if others already have asked this
question. But I really hope that these shortcommings will
be fixed before the beta expires, otherwise Microsoft have
decided to make it harder for certain computer users to
maintain our computers free of spyware.

This is NOT an original MS product.

They are converting Giant Company's Giant AntiSpyware to
Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware.

Because it wasn't created by MS, some features present in
MS applications are NOT present in the current beta
version of this product.

The GUI is not the most important feature to work on at
this point. Making certain that the application is
detecting all spyware, removing them properly, and
eliminating false positives is much more important than
the state of the GUI.

Look for MS to retool this product to meet MS standards.
