I think MSAS should be rewritten completely becase it's
full of bugs. I hope C# will be the target language

I doubt they're going to rewrite the entire program. Besides, they've got a
great foundation they're building off of. I mean the GIANT Anti-Spyware
was, from the research I've done, one of the better actively scanning
programs out there. Now their definition list was never the bigest, but it
sure as heck wasn't a list of several week old junk either. Anyway, moral
of the story, Microsoft is just in a transitional phase right now, and I'm
expecting a great piece of software in the future, maybe even a standard
install in Longhorn, or maybe even SP3?

Thats not Microsoft's focus right now maybe way into the future when they
start transitioning most of their products including the Windows OS to
managed code. I understand why you would want it to be written in C#,
because it is exposed thoroughly through managed which emphasizes, Security,
Reliability and Robustness.

The language MSAS is written in has little to do with the quality of the
final product, IMHO. The ability of the industry to define 'spyware' in
a way beneficial to the consumer, combined with the $s Microsoft is
willing to spend for lawyers will determine the ultimate usefulness of
MSAS. See

And if you want a good example of how Google is part of the problem, take a
look at the targeted ads in that URL reference--I haven't looked these
vendors up, but they sure aren't among the top rated anti-spyware products
available.
