I support an elderly gentleman that still accesses AOL via
dialup modem. He is running XP-Pro Sp2 along with Symantec
AV Corporate Edition. The XP firewall is on with the AOL
Exclusions and all has been well for months. I installed
MSAS-Beta yesterday and now AOL will not communicate. It
states that there is a firewall turned on. I have turned the
XP FW off with no luck and have gone so far as to uninstall
MSAS, Roll back SP2..still same thing. I just tonight
"over-installed\Upgraded" back to XP SP2 on top of the
existing installation...Installed a different modem...
Reinstalled AOL 9.0 Security edition...Spent 3 hours on the
phone to India with AOL and there is still something in XP
that is blocking AOL from communicating via dial up.
Has anybody had similar problems and been able to easily
fix them???
thanks,
Jeff
