I have seen some provious questions in reference to the IE6.0 Sp1 crashing
problems and was basically looking to find out if there have been any
problems with our configuration.

We run Windows XP (SP2) and IE6.0 (SP2) and we also have the problem, can
anyone shed some light on our problem.

Many Thanks Paul

Hello PA Bear,

Many Thanks for your reply, however we are having the same problem as is
reported with IE6.0 SP1. IE crashing randomly. I hope that the comments
from the "application log" below helps.

Source: Application Error, EVENT ID 1000

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module
mshtml.dll, version 6.0.2900.2963, fault address 0x0006d031.

Again, the only thing I can suggest is to check out the additional listings
in Known Issues section of 918899.

Otherwise, see if uninstall KB918899 via Add/Remove Programs resolves the
problem. If not, reinstall it and then run a /thorough/ check for
hijackware.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Same here. Called MS to report my problem last week, got bounced around for
over an hour to find out they don't have a fix for the kb918899 problem on xp
sp2 ie6 sp2. Nor did it appear they were working on one. Now that the ie6
sp1 patch is out today (Aug 24), is there any hope on the horizon for xp sp2
ie6 sp2 users to install this purportedly critical security update without
IEcrashing? Please help ... thanks!
