Is anyone experiencing problems with this patch? We've tested it on a few
Windows 2000 computers and is seems to hose Office. After applying the
patch, and rebooting, if you open any Office document, it will launch, open a
new doc, then immediately close.

I am not seeing this issue. I have it installed on several Windows XP machines
as well as some Windows Server 2003 machines.
