MS05-052 problem

When I do a windows update on w2k3 and I install the KB896688 IE fails to
handle activex controls.
In effect after installing this fix the windows update site activex control
stop working.
Also in OWA I'm unable to handle (write, reply, forward). The instead of the
textbox I see a red X.

Uninstalling the fix resume the correct IE behavior.
I have changed something in the IE conf that with this fix stops the activex
loading behavior?

I am having a similar problem where OWA 2003 no longer works after
applying this KB896688. Have you found any more information? This is
only happening on one workstation I have found so far.

See if this helps:

Download the file OLEfix.zip available here (it is a registry file
that origin from MS Support, and it has fixed the ActiveX problem
for several people):

http://patch-info.de/IE/Downloads/OLEfix.zip

Extract it and double click the contained OLEfix.reg file. Click Yes
on the dialog box that asks you if you are sure to add the information
in OLEfix.reg to the registry.

You may have to reboot your machine afterwards.
