For the past few days, when I open Outlook 2003, I get the same dumb MS Word
messages about disabling plug-ins that I get when I open MS Word. (I have
found no satisfactory way to avoid these messages.) In fact, it seems as
though Word is running in the background without my asking for it run... as
if Outlook by itself did not already demand too much computer resources!

If I work in Outlook and later, use Word, when I close Word, I get a message
saying that the NORMAL.DOT template has been modified, and asking if I want
to save it.

What the heck is going on? I know it's not the Microsoft way, but I really
prefer to open and use programs when I need them, not when another MS
program decides I should open them.

Thanks Roady.
I wonder how id that setting get checked. When I initially set up Outlook
2003, I made sure that it was unchecked. Is there some action within Outlook
or Word 2003 that would trigger it?

Thank you.
