Hi there,

We have a MS Wireless Multimedia KB with version 6.2 Pro software I can get
all the top buttons to work except the Volume buttons if I disable the HID
service and then reboot and restart it I can get it to work but then all the
other buttons don't work.

Anyone know what is happening here.

MS Vista Home Premium SP1.

Many thanks, Tim.

I don't know if it is the problem, but I would start by checking with
the keyboard manufacturer to see if they have new drivers for it.

Hi there,

It does appear to be an MS-Vista problem and I am running the latest drivers
from MS.

Thanks for your input, Tim.

MS Vista Home basic SP1.
Micro Innovations KB1045LSR Wireless Internet Keyboard & Laser Mouse

Mute and volume control buttons on the keyboard *used to* cause Explorer to
stop working, requiring a full restart, until MI email support replied with
a link to the latest drivers.

One other issue, though, is that I find the volume control buttons on a
wireless keyboard still freeze if you try to adjust the volume without any
active audio content playing, but a wired keyboard doesn't.

YMMV
