Please help! I installed update KB824105 on 2 systems in
our office! 1 system is running fine the other has a
serious problem. I said okay to reboot after the update
was installed. It rebooted took me to the log in screen,
I entered the information, the MS chime sounded and a blue
screen came up then nothing! Only the mouse pointer and I
can look at the task manager. We tried starting in safe
mode and the same things happened! Any suggestions....

Thanks for the help!
Lisa

Have you tried a complete power down and unplug of the AC
cord for 30 seconds or so? Just a thought.

Ctr+Alt+Del -> Task Manager

On the Applications tab click "New Task"
Browse for the file "explorer.exe" (Winnt\system32) -> OK

May get ur desktop back......... good luck

Here is another option. It is possible that the machine
still has the 'Last known Good Configuration' still on
it. Instead of trying the safe mode, look further down
the list and try LKGC. Once you have a succesfull sign
on, that is overwriten with the new config and won't work.
Good luck!

WE had to do a "repair" install, twice, but it fixed it
and all came back normally.

Weird stuff.
