MS Windows LiveOne Scanner: Uses Only IE, or others?

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and run XP SP2. I wanted to have a safe
browser now that MS is shutting down XP support and got both Opera and
Firefox, and I like to use the LiveOne Scanner also. I should say
this is the "on-demand-internet scanner", not the whole OneCare
Security suite.
I find that the scanner does not like Opera and Firefox and
states it is not supported by these browsers. Is this normal, or a
bug? Is LiveOne Scanner supported by any other browser than buggy
old IE?
Thanks and best!

Are you talking about this?
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/

It pretty much tells you:

"You need Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000
Professional, Windows Server 2003, or Windows 2000 Server. You also need
either Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or MSN® 9.0 or higher."

So - you can utilize it with Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or MSN 9.0 or
higher. It's a Microsoft product made to utilize Microsoft products.

Dear Shenan stanley;
Thank you very much for answering this, I appreciate it a lot.
Answer: yes, that is the advisory.
So! Question 1: can this be tweaked, or is it pretty set in
stone?
Question 2: is there any security reason why i cannot spend my
majority of time in a more-or-less- secure, or more secured Firefox,
and then go back to IE just to run the scanner? In other words using
two or more browsers, switching between them, etc. Will this cause
security issues very much?
Anyway, thanks for answering them both and Very Best Wishes!
