I just did a netstat on my updated XP system and noticed and HTTP connection
to
204.71.191.115
I went to this site and it redirected me to bCentral.
Now i had just started my computer up and didnt even have a web browser
open.
What is this site and why was i connected to it?

My Whois program says the following:

-----
Final results obtained from whois.arin.net.
Results:

i did that, as i mentioned... and then it sent me to a site which just had a
link to the bcentral site. that doesnt seem to give me any info as to what
MS is doing.

Justin,

I notice that when I use the web browser to connect to Microsoft, or say
www.nytimes.com, then netstat reports that connection from my local
address to the "foreign" address. Are you sure you didn't have a web
page open in a browser? Maybe try an experiment and run IE while
watching netstat.
