Hi, in our family, we have 4 Windows pc (3 xp home & 1 ME)-My daughter now
in college
would like to get a Mac pc because that is what they mostly use in Art
design college (they use windows too). I have done a little bit of research
on Mac's and products & found out that many of the Mac's come with microsoft
products installed like word & such. I find that odd but true.
I have never used a Mac so if there is anyone out there that knows of good
forums or can offer tips, that would be nice.

A Google search for some MAC forums and reviews would be a good place to
start. Yes Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac exists, soon to be replaced by
Office 2008, you can even run Windows on the newer Intel Macs.
When you decide on a model, read extensively on it, Apples hardware history
isn't the best, some of their units have allot of problems that Apple has
yet to admit exist, and I wouldn't bother with Apple's support forum, they
have a history of removing posts that reflect poorly on their computers.

MR,

My comments and experience are the antithesis of David's comments. The
ONLY reason I'm using a PC is that my #1 application only runs on
Windows. If I had my druthers, I would never use anything but my Mac.

If you go to http://www.macworld.com/ you should be able to find out
anything you want to know. They do a very good job there.

To find out about ANY Mac hardware, go to http://www.lowendmac.com/

She will be happy. But you should expect that she'll never use a PC
again. ;)
