I am getting a dialog box that stops IE6 from running every time. The box
title is my message header the text is as follows:

Program: C:\Prgram Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I cannot get into IE at all. I had done regular updates and it was on
Automatic Updates to keep up with anything new.

We did have a power outage here today that made my computer shut down. Upon
starting up after the outage IE worked OK. Out of the blue I started getting
this message and am locked out of IE on this particular machine.

Running XP Home
P4 2.6
1GB Ram
Asus motherboard

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi Mike :-)

Do you have any Office XP programs installed?

Hi Jan,

Thanks for the reply. I do have Office 2003 / not XP. My original search I
had misspelled a word and obviously did not find my answer... I ran the
search again after posting to be sure my post went up and found several
people with the same problem.

I uninstalled AOL Instant messenger and a few other IE dependent programs
and I am back up and running.

Thank you for your prompt reply!!

Hi Mike:
I'm new to this, but I just started getting the exact same message (C+++
Runtime)on my home computer yesterday and also have no luck on getting onto
the internet from there. Can you tell me just what you did to take care of
this problem? I can only see the short 4 message conversation between you
and Jan on the subject. I don't know where you got your answer suggestions
from. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
