MS Update failing

The automatic update is trying to install Security Update for Microsoft
Data Access Components 2.5 Service Pack 3 (KB911562). It does part one
and says "Failed".

How can I find out why it is failing? Are there log files left around?

(When I asked about this sometime ago, some wag told me that I shouldn't
be using DAC, but that's not a choice because it comes with the ATI
software I have.)

That's not how I remember it. Did you try any of the things I suggested?

Thanks. That page led to opening a bug report. MS pushed some info
gathering programs into the machine and they promised to get back to me
in a day. That's pretty good service.
