MS to Release a Linux Distro ?

Rumours abound at Redmond in the cafeteria and car park
that MS is head hunting Linux savvy programmers in
preparation for a proposed release of a MS Linux Distro by
2012 based on the successful Linux Xandros 4.0 which is a
clone of XP, or is it that MS is just trying to rip the
programming heart out of Linux development, surely not.

It is believed the MS Linux Distro will be more user friendly
than most of the 57 varieties of Linux currently available, lets
hope MS does not reduce Linux stability in the process.

China believes than production of the MS Linux solar
powered laptops can be mass produced and supplied at
nominal charge to is entire population by 2026.

Then I awoke it was only a dream, or was it?

By 2026 ?! That's 20 years. A WHOLE lot can happen in the industry in 20
years.

I want to say it's bullshit, but if Linux catches on in a gigantic way
(as in getting at least 35% of the OS market share), MS will probably
jump on the Linux bandwagon but will probably use sneaky, underhanded
tactics in order to have the top Linux distro. I suppose MS could first
buy Linspire (a few conspiracy kooks think that Linspire is actually
secretly owned by Microsoft), and rename it "Microsoft Lindows" (they
"bought" the name Lindows from Linspire for $20 million)...of course,
there would still be a CNR Warehouse, and you would also be required to
sign up with the CNR Warehouse and have Lindows automatically download
the LGA (Lindows Genuine Advantage) within 30 days or your OS would
self-destruct.

Then I guess Microsoft could persuade Linus Torvalds with enough money
to sell them the Linux trademark...then they could try to claim
ownership of the Linux kernel by paying off the right people...then
they could rename Tux "Tuxsutawney Bill".

Microsoft Lindows...wouldn't surprise me one bit.
