Does anyone have any information regarding running both db's
on 1 server?
I work in manufacturing and a current expansion project
involves 2 different vendors using these databases for their
backends.
I'm just wondering if I can locate both on 1 box?
Both would be fairly low transaction databases.

Any help appriciated.
Thanks

I had running both (and couple of other DBMS) on a
development server some time ago. - I never had any
problem with that configuration.

As long as there are enought ressource (mainly RAM)
to acommodate the two server processes I don't see
any reason why this should be a problem.

you sure that you couldnt run them both as SQL Server 2000 and run the
db you need in 6.5 compatability mode-- and that might get you close
enough to sybase?

just checking

That might do if you want to emulate a Sybase Server version
11.5 or earlier (They are at Version 15 now!). But even then
I wouldn't recommend it. There _might_ be some teeny tiny
diffrences between Sybase 11.5 and SQL2000 in 6.5 mode, which
may cause some problems. As it is really no big deal installing
MSSQL and Sybase on the same machine, I would definitely choose
this approach.
