Since installing MS Spyware on my Toshiba M10 notebook I
have had a an increasing frequency of "Blue Screen"
crashes, usually with messages "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" OR
"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA"and generally once or twice a day.

After doing a system restore and a considerable amount of
other diagnosis, I started uninstalling programs in
preparation for completely reinstalling Windows XP, and
after uninstalling MS Spyware the systems is once again stable.

nothing to do with MSAS

Have you tried posting your problems
not related to MS AntiSpyware to
news://msnews.microsoft.com

and please don't bother to send me private mail
because I don't check my mailbox regularly

I have used MSAS on over 100 computers without incident --
until today with the same error that you describe. MSAS
had found only one piece of spyware which I deleted. It
seems to have resulted in errors on the hard disk which
were corrected by chkdsk and the page file being
corrupted (as indicated at start up in safe mode). Also
we got the "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" blue screen. Now the
system is just plain slow. I will be back on-site to
attempt to resolve.

Have you found any resolution?

Thanks for your help.

This certainly isn't something seen with any frequency. If this is a bug,
it is one which is only evidenced in an extremely small sample of the
installed base--I tend to wonder whether there's some interaction with some
other piece of software which ends up creating this crash.

Are crash reports generated, or dumps? I do know that the developers will
get the crash reports if Microsoft Antispyware code is indicated. I'm quite
sure they'd be interested in dumps as well, if those are available.
