I did download the spyware and even had an update. I ran
it to see what it would do. Nothing detected. I also
compared it with my lavasoft that I have had for some
time. The lavasoft detected 12 critical and 14 non-
critical.

Some hours later, I found my word documents were opening
slowly. It took some four seconds to open them. MS spyware
was removed in control panel and the word documents
returned to normal opening. The results have been passed
along. The .exe is still on my system if MS techs can
improve the download. Until then MS, I use lavasoft.

Microsoft AntiSpyware BETA 1 does not detect Cookies/dataminers, this is
already, that is probably what Adaware is finding, please check the
following link:

Restart in safe mode, open Microsoft AntiSpyware, on the Scan Page, choose
Scan Options > Full System Scan (check boxes below) > click "Run Scan Now".

Thanks for the report.

Microsoft Antispyware doesn't scan for or selectively remove cookies.

The issue with opening Office files has been reported by others on some
specific installs. It doesn't seem to be a universal experience, but it is
well reported, so I feel secure that it will be fixed in beta2.
