MS SP2 update

Downloaded but have not installed SP2 update on P4, 2.53 GHz unit running MS
XP Home SP1.
The download I believe is stored some place on my hard. The location or file
name was never identified. I would like to know both if possible?
Also concerned about installing it since people who have done seem to have
problems afterwards.

Whatever you download is stored where you TOLD it to
store it, and named what you could have READ before and
during the download. Go and start to download it
again, and see what the name is and where it wants to
send it, then cancel the download. It's your problem,
you do the work.
BTW unless that was a long download, you didn't get
SP2; it's huge by most standards. You might have only
gotten a loader for it.
You have to go to the Catalogs or specific SP2 links
to download it by itself as an actual file.

It was a long download at least a couple of hours. I was advise that updates for my computer were available and clicking on that notice indicate that SP2 was one of them. Clicked on download button and immediately the download began without me indicating a location for it. It now sits some place on my hard drive and Iwould like to remove it.

This might sound too obvious, but have you tried simply using the "Search for
files and folders" for anything with SP2 in the filename? I can't imagine
you'd get a lot of false matches.

If it was really downloaded the filename is: WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe
search for it on your system.
