Wow, I bet they never thought of that, what a novel idea.

Or that is the idea, make this a confusing mess and then they can say
"its a big mess, so we are getting rid of it!".

Correction: Vista RIP. Now it's a Win 7/Ubuntu group.

Correction dumb ass, it will never be an Ubuntu group because NOBODY likes
Ubuntu and those who use that INFERIOR Ubuntu are just wasting their time
and effort.

Most reject Ubuntu with hours or days of installing that piece of shit.

Just FYI.

smlunatick expressed an opinion:
Microsoft has decided to not "grace" Usenet with Windows 7 groups.
Also, with a lot of ISPs dropping their Usnet and with the rumor that
Google "attempting" to drop "Google Groups," Usenet may disappear.

Microsoft doesn't have any effect on the existence of Usenet, only on
the continued use/abuse of their own server, and some of the newsgroups
that might not be carried on other servers.

ISPs that have dropped their own news servers have had very little
effect on Usenet, other than driving their own subscribers to other
Usenet servers and services.

If Google Groups dies it will only improving Usenet, IMHP ;-)

There's been an Ubuntu newsgroup for years. Where have you been, living
under a rock playing with yourself?

I meet more and more happy Ubuntu users every day. You're full of shit.

Look at: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-ca/default.aspx

Funny, it doesn't say anything like that on that link you posted.
Actually, if Google Groups went away it would be a VERY good thing for
Usenet! Google Groups is the modern version of when AOL was let loose on
Usenet, a total nightmare.

How can you meet happy Ubuntu users every day? You are stuck in front of
your computer all day so you are lying and you are full of shit.

I see quite a few clients every week. I go into different businesses and
meet lots of people. I never see Ubuntu users. I have quite a few people
that I work with. They never see Ubuntu users. They have friends and
acquaintances and they never see Ubuntu users.

It's amazing. Your town in Spain must be the only town on the planet where
everyone uses Ubuntu, each household has Ubuntu or wants Ubuntu. Every
business wants or has Ubuntu.

The only town in Spain and on planet earth. I wonder how that happened?

HA HA HA HA HA HA

Take more drugs.

It is because of Newsgroups that i was able to sell MANY
electronics/industrial parts, Test&Measurement Equipment, and just anything
by mirroring an Ebay ad on Usenet (posting a quick
description/cross-reference).
One Calgary.forsale group is a giant, one comp.sys.laptops has several
thousands subscribers & little spam.

If Usenet dies I will, WITHOUT jokes, grieve profusely, it would be a blow
to my life.
I am serious. This post is not to amuse you.

I love Usenet, it's been there since 1979 created by Duke University grads
Before it was BBS which required dialing into each BBS individually which at
the time usually racked up your phone bills and easted a lifetime.
For each different BBS you had to dial a different number, wait to connect,
loging, disocnnect, dial the next.

Whoever is attemtping to destroy Usenet deserves our hatred.
Shameon Google if the rumors of it attempting to drop support for Newsgroups
are true.
What they should do is to kill their own Google groups and keep Useness
access active.

You know what? I am willing to pay a small yearly fee for it.
If all fails I will simply pay a small fee to Giganews - which looks like
most successful Usenet provider today
