My MS Security Center is disabled and I can't get it turned back on. When I
go in to Control Panel and click on the Security Center Icon, I get the
follwing message: "The security center is currently unavailable because
the "security center" service has not started or was stopped. Please close
this window and restart the computer.......". But even after restarts, it
still does not work. I ran NAV Internet Security 2006 to check for problems
but I get none. In addition which may be related, when I do restart, I get a
Windows message that it can not open C:/Windows/nail.exe. Can someone help
me with this?

Go to Start > Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Services > and make
sure 'Security Center' is set to 'Automatic'? Then start the 'Security
Center' service, if you haven't already tried to.

Nail.exe is a is a hijacker which means it will intermittently change
your Internet Explorer settings / Desktop to the link of it's
author's sponsors. This program is usually installed through consent,
however is sometimes packaged as another product. It is a registered
security risk and should be removed immediately.

If you are using WinXP SP2

Try going to Start>Programs>adminstrative tools>Services

Then scroll down and find Security Center and see if it is set to Automatic.
If not right click it, go to properties and set it to Automatic. Then in the
left hand column RESTART it. Also may want to on the properties screen set
the recovery tab to restart if failure to start.
