MS Outlook Express 6 - unsafe attachments

When I receive email with .XIF file as attached file I
can not access,open, neither save the attached file.
The message below appears :
"OE removed access to the following unsafe attachements
in your mail: xxxxxxx.XIF ".

I can open these .XIF files through "Windows Picture and
Fax Viewer" without problems.
