After working properly for some time, suddenly my above
program quit and brought me into an endless loop as
follows:
An error message would appear stating that Outlook had a
problem and had to close. At an earlier stage a menu
would appear requesting to start in safe mode and that
would cure the problem. Then that quit.
The next error message in the problem series stated that
Outlook needed to reinstall or reconfigure. It would then
state that Powerpoint was reconfiguring. I uninstalled
Powerpoint, uninstalled Outlook, and reinstalled Outlook
alone.
After stating that Outlook had successfully been installed
repeated attempts to activate the program failed. It
always needed to close, to self-repair, to configure etc.
All failed.
I've used Scandisk and Norton Utilities and Norton Doctor
to insure that my hard disk was in good shape.
I'm at a loss now to know where to turn to solve this
problem. I've made sure to close all active programs when
installing, such as Task Bar.
On my C-drive I have three MS Office products, but not the
combined Office package: Access, Outlook, and, before I
uninstalled it, PowerPoint.
I need help in determining why Outlook fails to boot.
When I had PowerPoint installed, it worked.
Is there a diagnostic program for this?
I'd appreciate an email, as I'm not sure how to get back
to this location.
Thank you.
