I am new to these newsgroups, but so far they have been
great in helping me solve some nagging problems.

I have just a couple of questions.

How long does your post stay around?
Are they automatically deleted at a certain point?

Also, is there a fast way to get to all your posts?

The quickest way to get to all your posts is to click on View - Current
View - Show replies to my messages

Hi Dave;
Ctrl + H is even quicker. But neither of these will work with Microsoft CDO
for Windows 2000

Posts are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Hi Heather,

You post to the Microsoft news server. Then the post is picked up by many
ISPs and copies are held on their servers. The post will be removed from
each of these servers at differing intervals. Jan mentioned 90 days for the
Microsoft server.

Google Groups (http://groups.google.com) archives all the posts and they are
all available there. For example, you can see the post I am replying to by
going to the Advanced Groups Search.
http://groups.google.com/[email protected]&lr=&hl=en.
You haven't used a real email address and Heather is a fairly common name so
it will be hard to search for your posts by your name.

Finally, you can remove your own posts from Google Groups. See
http://www.google.com/contact/groups.html.

OK.

During the recent unusually violent sun-spot activity,
did you see any "Northern Lights" in your area?

Some people in Colorado reported sightings.

Hi Jan;
I'd heard about the sun-spot activity. But, I didn't know to look for the
Northern Lights. I saw 'em real good one night about twenty years ago. Wow! I
was out in the country without much ambient light. Cool! Wish I knew to look
this time. :-(

Right now because of the swen worm, the posts are being expired after 30
days, before the worm attack posts were never restored on the MS servers,
but other newsgroup servers that carried the MS groups have varying expire
periods.
