Had to reload Win2kPro on my PC. Have downloaded all
available Critical Updates and now trying the recommended
updates. The .NET Framework update downloads but won't
install. Any help?

Same problem here, the installation stops (hangs) at
System.EnterpriseServices.dll

Please let me know, thanks

I've had this same problem on 2 different machine in the past few days - it seems to be a new problem - anyone know what's up?

Rosemary,

It isn't a new problem. If you search the newsgroup archives on Google,
you'll see that people have been reporting it for months. Unfortunately, no
one seems to have a solution. Some people have posted mysterious suggestions
(like renaming msdtc.exe!?), but nothing seems to work.

I've been stuck with the problem since the beginning of October. It has
really crippled my computer, and I would love to find a fix that's less
disruptive than reinstalling Windows. At the very least, I'd like to know
how to reverse the damage done by the failed install. If you learn anything,
please post it here.

Same problem here. I've gone a step further and ordered
the CD-ROM. I get a little further in the installation
process but then get notified that I need IIS.

What is that? How do I get it? If it is needed, how come
its not on the Windows Updates? etc etc

Thanks!

IIS is Internet Information Server, a web server that is ASP.NET capable,
available in Windows 2000 Professional and in Windows XP Professional, but
*not* installed in a default OS install. You need to go to Add/Remove
Programs in Control Panel, then select Add/Remove Windows Components and put
a checkmark in IIS. You'll need your OS install CD handy to insert when
prompted.
